Neilson Research Corporation (NRC) was founded in January 1981 by John W.T. Neilson, a passionate chemist and microbiologist who remains the CEO and co-owner. Kimberly Ramsay, co-owner and president, has been pivotal in steering the company’s growth and success.
Our journey began as Neilson Research Analytical Laboratory, operating from a garage with a focus on water microbiology and a limited range of inorganic chemical analyses. In 1985, we rebranded as Neilson Research Corporation and moved to a 1,000 square-foot facility at 446 Highland Drive. This expansion enabled us to offer a comprehensive range of microbiological and inorganic chemical analyses.
By February 1990, we had outgrown our initial space and relocated to 245 South Grape Street. Here, we introduced an organic chemistry department, further enhancing our service offerings. Our growth continued, leading us to purchase a 6,500 square-foot building at the corner of 10th and Grape Streets in June 1999. This facility now serves as our corporate headquarters and houses several of our laboratory departments.
To better serve our clients in Southern Oregon, we expanded to Grants Pass in April 2014, opening an office at 400 SE G Street for sample receiving and pickup. In March 2015, we extended our operations further by leasing the building at 208 S Fir Street in Medford, known as the Annex. This facility supports our expanded asbestos and organic laboratories.
Throughout our history, NRC has remained dedicated to providing superior analytical data, exceptional customer service, and fast turnaround times. Our commitment to excellence has established us as a trusted partner in environmental testing.
