Quality Assurance

The data produced by Neilson Research Corporation is vital for protecting public health and the environment. Our corporate policy mandates Quality Assurance activities across all laboratory departments to ensure that all analytical data reported is scientifically sound, legally defensible, of documented quality, and accurately reflects the samples submitted for analysis.

Quality Manual

Our Quality Manual details the policies and operational procedures for Neilson Research Corporation. It includes specific protocols for sample handling and storage, chain-of-custody, laboratory analyses, data reduction, corrective action, and reporting. These policies and procedures comply with the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP) standards adopted in July 2005 and adhere to applicable EPA requirements, regulations, guidance, and technical standards.

Proficiency Testing

Neilson Research Corporation performs Proficiency Testing (PT) twice a year using samples from a NIST-approved PT provider. This testing covers analytes specified by the EPA for drinking water, wastewater, and soil matrices. The specific analytes and matrices tested are aligned with our current laboratory services.

Quality Assurance Manager

The Quality Assurance Manager is the primary point of contact for quality control and is responsible for implementing the Quality System. This role involves collaborating with all staff members to ensure that data meets the quality control objectives.

Staff Commitment

We understand that delivering high-quality results requires a collective commitment from everyone in the company. Each department and individual is dedicated to providing the best analytical data possible. Our staff members are highly skilled, extensively trained in standard operating procedures, demonstrate competence, and are subject to periodic unannounced inspections of their work.

Ethics

Our corporate policy ensures that Quality Assurance activities are conducted in every laboratory department to verify that all analytical data reported is scientifically sound, legally defensible, of documented quality, and accurately represents the submitted samples. The data produced by our laboratory is crucial for protecting public health, the environment, and making significant social and financial decisions. We uphold the highest ethical standards and have adopted a “zero tolerance” policy towards any improper, unethical, or illegal actions by employees. Any intentional deviation from methods to conceal results is both unethical and illegal.
