In this role, which he has held since 2010, Kyle oversees the overall operation and administration of the laboratory. Prior to becoming the Laboratory Director, Kyle served as the Assistant Laboratory Director from 2008 to 2010, where he played a crucial role in maintaining the technical quality of all data generated within the laboratory. His journey at Neilson Research Corporation began as an Organic Chemist, where he was responsible for all organic sample preparation and performed analyses using a range of sophisticated techniques including GC-FID, GC-ECD, GC-MS, HPLC, and TOC. Additionally, Kyle briefly worked as a Metals Chemist, handling the preparation of all metals samples.

Kyle is actively involved in professional organizations, serving as the Board President of the Oregon Environmental Laboratory Association (OELA) since 2020. He is also an Associate Member of the TNI Chemistry Committee; a position he has held since 2022.
